Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Vikki.

I’m a wife, a mum and an educator with over 25 years of experience in education and leadership. My passion has always been to help children grow into the very best of who they are.

In more recent years, my work has focused on children with additional needs, particularly those with social, emotional and mental health needs, and those who have experienced trauma, uncertainty and big feelings they don’t yet have the words for.

I created Steady Hearts, Steady Hands because I believe every family deserves access to warm, evidence-informed support that helps children feel safe, seen and understood. I also believe that every child deserves a champion, someone who believes in them and doesn’t give up.

This work isn’t just about one thing. It’s about offering thoughtful, practical ways to support children and the adults around them, whether that’s through resources, shared ideas, or simply helping people feel more confident in how they show up.

The boxes are just one part of that. They’re built on everything I know about what children need, and everything I’ve seen families achieve when they’re given the right tools and a little encouragement.

Experience

At the heart of my work is the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, valued and truly understood. I know that children thrive when they feel seen and supported.

I am deeply influenced by the work of Rita Pearson and Daniel Hughes, holding onto the idea that connection comes before correction. I work in a trauma-informed, attachment-aware way, leading with curiosity, empathy and consistency to create environments where children can regulate, trust and begin to flourish.
